Summary Exciting Opportunity: The Solid Waste Division, Enterprise Services Section looking to fill one (1) Project Control Specialist (Project Program Manager II). Take part in showcasing your existing cost control/management skills and develop new ones, by providing project control and cost control support to capital projects and contracts within the division. As a team member of the Solid Waste Project Control Unit, you will interact with projects teams across all Solid Waste's lines of business. The Department of Natural Resources and Parks is at the forefront of the County's environmental mission in safeguarding the region's natural resources through its various divisions. The Solid Waste Division is currently investing resources in developing cutting-edge solutions to the challenge of refuse management within a context of an increasing population and the opportunity that comes with an environmentally sustainable outlook. The Project Control Unit supports the Solid Waste Division to achieve its goals by providing division wide project and cost control services which helps manage project costs, and track contract equity goals. About the Role: This role is crucial for maintaining the financial health and contractual integrity of projects. This includes preparing and routing contract administration documents. Compliance review of contracts, funding commitments, invoices and pay applications, facilitating issue resolution with the project manager and vendor. This position also supports the preparation of annual cash flow statements, budget forecast reports, project performance metrics. Lastly, this position will handle and manage contract payment schedules, budgets, and escalation funds. Job Duties What You Will Be Doing: Perform invoice and pay application review to ensure proper rate and budget payments Analyze and input contract payment data and project progress into proprietary software Track rate payment schedules, project schedules, and escalation budgets. Report on project, budget, and contract performance metrics. Adjudicate vendor payment and reporting issues within contract policy guidelines. Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills Qualifications You Bring: A minimum of three (3) years of experience in project cost control Ability to track and forecast budgets Ability to read and manage project schedules Ability to review and approve contract payments based on contract terms Competencies You Bring: Action Oriented - Taking on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm. The frequency of onsite work is determined by business needs and may be adjusted accordingly. Onsite reporting locations may be at various King County worksites including the collaboration space at King Street Center (201 S. Jackson St, Seattle, WA 98104). This work arrangement promotes work-life-balance and reduces carbon footprint under the department's vision of Green Where We Work . Work Schedule: This position works a 40-hour workweek and is overtime eligible with Supervisor approval. Work schedule: 5/8 Mon - Fri, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Union Representation: This position is represented by Teamsters Local 117 Professional and Technical Employees.
